CGYG May 2026 Monthly Update

Hello Parents and Students,
It's already May!
That means schools are coming to an end for the year. Some of our seniors have already had their last class!
Tiffany and I are going to see a LOT of change in the next couple of months with Samuel getting married on May 16, Wesley leaving for boot camp on May 26, and Tiffany's mom moving into our house sometime in June. We'll be out of town for part of May.
But a cool thing is starting on Sunday mornings for our teens. The leaders are swapping places with me! I'm going to be teaching a 6 week series called Hymn History, to the 7th-9th grade class while Dan Liken and Evan St. Onge continue going through the parables of Jesus with the upper classmen.
NOTE: As we enter warmer months we ask students to be mindful of the clothing they wear on Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and special events. Many of these gatherings include fast-paced physical activities. Please keep modesty in mind, particularly with regard to shirt, skirt, and short lengths.
Coming Activities:
May 13: Teen Take-over Wednesday: The upper-classmen will plan, execute, teach, and play; everything needed for a Wednesday night! They are running the show.
May 17: Youth Leader meeting focused on June 7: Leadership teens are invited!
May 29: Student service project, neighborhood cleanup! Let's clean up the property around our property! Meet at the church at 4:00pm on Friday (or join us as soon as you can). We'll clean the sidewalk area from Pickett road to 1/10 a mile up Olley. Then we'll come back, wash up, and have pizza in the youth room. Plan to pick up your teen around 7:00pm. This project is a blessing to our community and gives teens much needed service work hours!
June 7th Student Servant Sunday: The teens are going to be very visible as they will be running everything in the church from ushering to worship. Pastor Stephen will be preaching. Your teen can sign up here!
Save the date: June 22-27 is Week of Summer Fun! We will be doing several activities including a pool party, bowling, movie night, and Airsoft!
